Course Description

Cross Training Bible Institute

Salvation

DM-101 (4 Credits)

Course Description: This is a course which examines the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is this message of the Gospel whereby all who believe are saved and experience what salvation is all about. Since salvation is the beginning of the Christian life, this is the first course anybody who enrolls at CTBI should take.  The message of the Cross is what salvation is all about and is the beginning of the Christian life. The Cross is the foundation upon which our lives before God is based upon. This is the mission of CTBI: Cross Training.

Overview: In the first part of this course we will examine the Gospel indepth. The student will know how one is saved and how each part of the Gospel message is essential for the new believer to understand. The Gospel message, aka. the message of the Cross, is woven into all areas of the Christian life as well as the Word of God. Without the Gospel, the Christian existence is meaningless. It is important that all Christian teaching be based upon this message and not stray from its foundational position in the life of the church and each individual Christian. The Christian life begins and ends with God's glorious work through the Cross of Jesus Christ.  The middle portion of the course will be dedicated to looking at various aspects of being saved and what they mean. The various topics under salvation we will study include regeneration, election, justification, sanctification, and security.  Finally, we will look at some false gospel models. There are those who distort the message of the cross and try to add or take away beliefs that simply are not true. Many are deceived into these false gospels and do not have a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We won't be naming names of groups, but merely examining some false gospel systems. As you grow in your Christian life, you will be able to spot false gospels and expose them for what they are.
